ABOUT

Amelia is a Welsh director-writer, actor and BAFTA Cymru Member based in Manchester. She has a keen interest in regional stories focusing on community, culture, language and landscape.
She recently directed Welsh-language S4C-funded short ‘Milodfa’ (Menagerie) which premiered on S4C/BBC iPlayer, followed by success on the festival circuit; selected for several BIFA qualifying festivals and nominated for several awards including best debut director - winning best cinematography and best female director. She is also a member of WFTV, screening Milodfa at their 2026 festival.
After graduating from actor training at the Manchester School of Theatre, she attended NFTS’ 6-month filmmaking certificate course - fully supported by a BFI scholarship and ScreenSkills bursary for under-represented voices. In 2023 she was invited to be on the jury for the BAFTA Cymru Directing: Fiction category, followed by taking part in HOME Manchester’s inaugural FilmLab cohort. For theatre, she directed Off-Fest-nominated & GM fringe award-winning comedy ‘Baggy Bra’ (UK tour).
As part of a female-founded production company Homebird Films, projects include 'Sea Pink', a script long-listed for the Slick Film Fund, and the first draft of their current project ‘DELULU’ shortlisted for the 2025 Emerging Voices Film Fund, now in development. They are driven by stories which platform regional women through a darkly comic lens.
